În consecinţă, biroul acestuia trebuie să fie adaptat activităţii de conducere, prezentabil, elegant şi, nu în ultimul rând, funcţional.
Amenajarea biroului. Sfaturi, idei, recomandări
Biroul trebuie să fie un spaţiu multifuncţional. Piesa centrală este biroul de lucru, completată de o zonă de conţine şi una pentru înâlniri, la care pot participa mai multe persoane. Nu este indicat ca biroul să fie concomitent şi sală de şedinţe, dar dacă spaţiul firmei nu permite amenajarea unui astfel de loc, separat, sau dacă activitatea presupune necesitatea unor întâlniri frecvente cu şefi de departamente sau alţi angajaţi, biroul liderului poate prelua şi acest rol.
La toate acestea, se mai pot adaugă o biblioteca (pentru depozitarea dosarelor), eventual, bibliorafturi, dar şi cărţi şi alte lucrări de interes care au legatură cu activitatea.

Biroul şi zona de lucru
Un manager are sarcini multiple: coordonează, planifică şi, uneori, execută, astfel că biroul acestuia, tehnica, accesoriile pe care le are la dispozitie, dar şi amenajarea, în ansamblul ei, trebuie să răspundă acestor nevoi şi obligaţii.
Prin natura funcţiei de conducere, masa de lucru este zona centrala. Tehnica şi accesoriile – imprimanta, scanner sunt nelipsite, dar este de dorit ca acestea să nu fie poziţionate central, ci pe o laterală a spaţiului de lucru, din două motive.
Dacă eşti şef, atunci să ştii că în primul rând trebuie să fii vizibil, nu ascuns în spatele unui monitor. Al doilea: lucrul efectiv la calculator este secundar pentru un manager, mai importante fiind realizarea strategiilor, dialogul şi comunicarea.
Adaugă accesoriile de birou, de la telefonul fix până la capse capsator. Biroul unui manager are nevoie de aşa ceva, tocmai prin natura funcţiei. Acest obiect face parte din elementele care asigura securitatea informatiilor. Poate fi plasat sub birou, in locul unui cos pentru hartii, de exemplu.

Astfel:
● biroul trebuie aşezat cu faţa la uşă
● ideal este ca fereastra sp fie în spatele biroului managerial sau, macar pe o laterala, dar niciodata cu faţa spre fereastră
● trebuie luată în calcul o piesă de mobilier pentru birou mare, eventual, în forma de L, cu o zonă specială dedicată calculatorului sau laptopului, dar nu evita inovaţiile şi soluţiile de design futurist
● plante verzi, impunatoare şi în perfectă stare sunt bine-venite;
● florile proaspete pot fi un detaliu rafinat, deşi sunt mai potrivite în biroul unui manager femeie
● culorile folosite trebuie alese cu atenţie, cele mai potrivite fiind nuanţele de pământ, maro-roşcat, griurile, tonurile de albastru şi verde, iar ca note de accent, poate fi utilizat galbenul, roşul, negrul şi nuanţele metalice (cupru şi argintiu)
● piesele de mobilier trebuie să fie de maximă calitate, indiferent dacă stilul amenajării este unul modern sau clasic, iar elemente deteriorate, degradate sau care au urme evidente de uzura trebuie eliminate, pentru ca totul trebuie să fie nu doar în perfecta stare de funcţionare, dar şi nou.
Luând în calcul aceste câteva elemente, amenajarea unui birou managerial nu va ridica probleme deosebite.
