Atât firmele, cât și persoanele fizice pot încheia contracte de leasing auto. În ambele cazuri, condițiile, tipurile de contracte, obligațiile și costurile sunt asemănătoare. 

În comparație cu creditele bancare, leasingul auto are ca avantaje plățile lunare mai mici, o mai mare libertate de a-ți schimba mașina cu una mai nouă la intervale regulate de timp și accesul facil la serviciile de mentenanță periodice.
